Maria Z is known for her powerful yet dreamy vocals, delivering a fusion of soulful pop and R&B. A true trailblazer, she helped pave the path for unsigned artists to creatively utilize social media to share their music since joining YouTube in its early days.

 

Independently, Maria has achieved international press and radio play, along with features on major TV networks such as CNN, ABC, and FOX. Her rendition of “Unthinkable” was danced to on one of America’s favorite television series, So You Think You Can Dance. Her music has been shared and acclaimed by outlets such as Billboard, Vibe, Ryan Seacrest, and Vogue.

With a deep love for poetry, melody, and the written word, Maria began composing music at the early age of five and now crafts songs for herself as well as other artists across nearly every genre. She was recognized by Guitar Center as one of the Top 10 Singer-Songwriters in the Country and is a 2020 ASCAP Foundation Harold Adamson Lyric Award winner.

 

Maria’s artistry extends beyond the stage - her songs have been featured in major films including Spirited starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell, she has voiced singing characters for iconic brands such as LEGO and Barbie, and her music has been featured in high-profile campaigns for brands like Nintendo.

 

Her vocals dip effortlessly between sultry and mighty, edgy and timeless. This versatility has taken her from big festival stages (Electronic Daisy Carnival, 2018) to performances alongside musical staples including Babyface, Ne-Yo, Fantasia, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Most recently, she was hand-selected to sing with the original orchestra from the iconic Titanic soundtrack for their anniversary film-to-live showing.
